Your Generosity Fills More Than Bags—It Fills Hearts.

Every item you donate—whether it’s a backpack, a blanket, or a simple notebook—becomes part of something bigger: a HOPE Bag that reminds a child in foster care they are not forgotten. These donations meet practical needs, but they also carry love, dignity, and the powerful message that someone out there truly cares.

When you give to Gaines Hope, you're not just clearing out a closet—you’re creating a moment of comfort and connection during one of the most uncertain times in a child's life.

How It Works

What's a HOPE Bag?

A HOPE Bag is a personalized care kit given to a child when they enter foster care—often with little to nothing of their own. Each bag is packed with comfort, encouragement, and basic essentials that say: you matter, and you're not alone.

A typical HOPE Bag might include:

  • Backpack or duffel bag
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush
  • Cozy blanket or stuffed animal
  • Journal or coloring book with markers
  • A pair of socks or slippers
  • Healthy snacks or treats

Every item you donate helps create one of these meaningful bags—and every bag delivers hope when it’s needed most.
